What happens and when
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Upload | The link is live. Your dashboard shows "Ends" and the date, 14 days on. |
| 2 days before | NudgeHost emails you that the link is about to end. The dashboard counts down, "Ends tomorrow" then "Ends today". |
| Day 14 | The link stops working. It no longer counts toward your 3 active links. |
| Days 15 to 21 | The file is kept. Upgrading brings the link back. |
| After day 21 | The file is deleted, and nobody can use its address again. |
The reminder can be turned off with Link reminders when you change your email settings. It never comes more than once a day, and one email lists up to 10 links ending in the next 2 days.
What visitors see
A page that says "This link has ended" and "Links on NudgeHost's free plan stay live for 14 days. Ask the person who shared this file to send it again." A link that ended on a date you set yourself says "This link has expired" instead.
Bring the link back
- Open your dashboard. The ended link's row says "Ended", with the day to upgrade by.
- Click Upgrade to Pro and pay.
- The link works again at the same address, with no end date. So does every other link whose file is still kept.
The Pro plan costs $12 a month, keeps links until you delete them, and has no limit on links. An end date you set yourself stays in place after the upgrade.
Accounts made before 29 October 2026
Links on free accounts made before 29 October 2026 don't end. Those accounts hold 10 active links if they were made before 27 October, and 5 if made on 27 or 28 October.
To end a link sooner on any plan, give the link an end date. If a link stopped working for another reason, the troubleshooting guide lists the causes.
