Before you send
Three ways to send the CV.
Each one opens in the recruiter's browser. Pick the format you already have.
A PDF
Export it from whatever you wrote it in. It opens in the browser's PDF viewer with your layout intact, and its first page becomes the link preview.
A Word file
Upload the .docx as it is. NudgeHost converts it once into a web page, so the recruiter needs no Word, and the Download button still gives them the original.
An HTML page
A CV built as one self-contained page opens as a working web page at a nudgehost.com link, with its styles in place.

Why a link works better for a CV.
An attachment gives you no sign that anyone has read it. A link opens the CV in the recruiter's browser with nothing to download, and its open count tells you whether it has been looked at.
Start from the file you already have. Putting the CV file online works for a PDF, a Word document or a single HTML page, and a PDF keeps the layout you designed.
Design, product and front-end roles often ask to see work as well. A portfolio sent the same way can go into the same application as a second link.
The free plan keeps 10 links live with no end date, so each application can have its own link and its own count.

Frequently asked questions
Will the recruiter know I'm tracking the link?
No. It looks like an ordinary link. The open data is visible only to you, in your dashboard.
What format should my resume be?
PDF, since it keeps the layout you designed. A Word file works too and is converted to a web page, which keeps the text but not the fonts or the page layout, so export to PDF first if the design matters.
Can I tell which company opened my resume?
If you make a separate link for each application, yes. Each link counts its own opens, and a free account keeps 10 links live at once.
Can I use my own domain?
On Pro and Studio, a zipped site can run on a subdomain you own, such as cv.yourname.com. A custom domain attaches to a zipped site only, so a PDF on its own stays on its nudgehost.com link.
Can I update my CV after I've applied?
Yes, with an account. Upload the new version over the old one and the link stays the same, so everyone who already has it sees the update.
Can I stop the link working once the role is filled?
Yes. On any account plan, set an end date and the link shows an expired page after it. You can also delete the link from your dashboard at any time.
Can I see when and where it was opened?

Does it work without signing up?
Yes. Links made without an account last 7 days. A free account keeps them until you delete them.
Will the recruiter see a NudgeHost banner?
Not on a PDF. A Word file or an HTML page uploaded without an account carries a small NudgeHost bar, which goes once you make an account and the link moves across.
What does the link look like in a message?
In apps that show link previews, a PDF's card carries its first page. A Word file's card carries its file name, and an HTML page's card carries the page's own title.
