An attachment sits in a crowded inbox, and a large one can run into an email size limit. Creating a PDF link avoids both. The file lives in one place, you can update it after you send it, and the person on the other end reads it without saving anything. Yes. A free account holds 10 active PDFs at up to 25MB each, with no end date, and you don't need a card to sign up.
Can I share a PDF without making an account?
Yes. Upload signed out and the link works straight away. It lasts 7 days and you can hold 3 at once. If you make a free account later, the links move across and stop expiring.
Can I password-protect a hosted PDF?
Yes, on Pro and Studio. Anyone who opens the link has to enter the password before the PDF appears.
How long does a hosted PDF stay online?
On a free account, until you delete it. Links made without an account last 7 days. You can also give a link on any account plan an end date.
