Who needs an account
| What you're doing | Account |
|---|---|
| Uploading a file | A free NudgeHost account |
| Pasting text or HTML | A free NudgeHost account |
| Publishing from an AI agent or the API | An API key from a NudgeHost account |
| Opening a link someone sent you | None. Any browser opens it, with no app and no sign-in |
Uploading without an account ended on 28 October 2026. Links made before then keep working on the terms they had.
Make an account
- Go to nudgehost.com and click Get started free, or drop a file on the upload box first.
- Click Continue with Google, or type an email address and a password and click Continue.
- Tick "Don't email me news about new features and paid plans" if you don't want product news. It's unticked to start with, and you can choose which emails you get later from your dashboard.
- A page that says "You're in." opens. Click Go to your files to reach your dashboard and upload.
A free account needs no card.
If you picked a file first
Drop a file while you're signed out and the box says "Make a free account to get your link". Click Sign up and get the link, or Sign in if you already have an account.
- The file waits in your browser while you sign up. Nothing is uploaded before the account exists.
- Once you're in, it uploads by itself and your dashboard shows "Your file is live" with the link.
- The browser keeps the file for 24 hours, and holds one file at a time.
- A file over 25MB is refused before you sign up, since the free plan stops there.
- If you sign in to an account that already has 3 active links, the file stays in the browser for those 24 hours and the dashboard says so.
What a free account includes
The free plan holds 3 active links, takes files up to 25MB, and keeps each link live for 14 days. To share your first file once you're in, share a file from your browser.
Links are public links, so everyone you send one to can open it. If sign-in or an upload fails, the troubleshooting guide covers each message.
