Delete your account
- Open your dashboard and click the account menu at the top right.
- Choose Manage account, then Security.
- Under Delete account, click Delete account.
- Type "Delete account" in the box, as the dialog asks, and click Delete account.
Deleting an account can't be undone, so save a copy of any file you want to keep first.
You can also email support@nudgehost.com and NudgeHost deletes it for you.
If you'd rather keep the account
- If it's only the emails you want to stop, you can choose which emails you get and keep the account.
- To end one link and keep the account, delete a link from your dashboard instead.
What happens straight away
When an account is deleted, all of this happens at once.
- Its links stop working straight away.
- NudgeHost stops sending it email.
- Its API keys and any app signed in to it lose access.
- Any custom domain is released.
- Any paid plan is cancelled at once, with no refund beyond the 7-day refund, which the guide to refunds explains.
- Its email address is removed from the account at once.
A deleted link's name is never given to anyone else.
What's kept for 30 days
Its files, their earlier versions and their open records are kept for 30 days and then deleted, with the rest of the account.
When an account NudgeHost blocked, or one holding a file NudgeHost removed for breaking its terms, is deleted, NudgeHost keeps its files and email address for 30 days as evidence and sends it no email. After that they're deleted with the rest of the account, as for any other deleted account.
What outlasts a deleted account
- Billing records, retained for 6 years as required by UK tax law.
- Encrypted backups, held for up to 90 days for disaster recovery.
- The list of addresses that unsubscribed or bounced, so those addresses are never emailed again.
- Payment records at Stripe, which Stripe keeps as the law requires it to.
- Error reports in Sentry and delivery records in Resend, which are deleted on those services' own schedules.
