Nobody needs an account to open your links, and there's no limit on how many people open one.
What counts as an active link
A link counts while it works. A link that has ended or been deleted doesn't count, and neither does an upload left unfinished for more than an hour.
When you reach a limit
- With 3 active links, the upload box becomes a card that says "Your free plan is full". Your links keep working, and you can still replace a file on one of them.
- A file over 25MB shows "This file is over your 25MB limit" with the plan that would take it.
- More than 30 uploads in an hour shows "Too many uploads in the last hour". Waiting an hour clears it.
- An account over its limit, such as one that came back from a paid plan with more links, keeps every link working. New uploads, replacing and settings pause until it's back under.
The Pro plan has no limit on links, takes files up to 250MB and keeps links until you delete them, for $12 a month. Each limit message and its fix are quoted in our troubleshooting guide.
Accounts made before 29 October 2026
Free accounts made before 29 October 2026 keep links until they delete them. They hold 10 active links if they were made before 27 October, and 5 if made on 27 or 28 October. Every other limit above applies to them too.
When a free link reaches its fourteenth day, the guide to free links ending explains what happens next.
