What they see
Your PDF, one click away.
Paste the link into an email, a chat or a message. Apps that show link previews draw the first page of your PDF, and one click opens the whole document in the browser. Nobody downloads anything first or signs in.
- The first page as the link preview
- Opens in the browser, nothing to install
- No account or sign-in for the reader
How it works
From file to link in three steps.
Drop the PDF
Drag it onto the uploader or click Choose a file. Without an account, the link stays up for 7 days.
Name the link
It gets a short random name. For one of your own, such as nudgehost.com/harbour-road, press Choose the link name in the upload card and type it before you drop the PDF.
Send it or print it
Paste it anywhere. Signed in, every link has a QR code ready for a flyer, a sign or a slide.

The link keeps working for you.
Most of this is on the free plan. Open details and passwords come with Pro and Studio.
Update it, keep the link
Upload a new version over the old one. The link and any printed QR code show the new PDF, and the view count stays.
See whether it's been opened
Free accounts see how many times the link was opened. Pro and Studio add the time and country of each open, with a CSV export.
Add a password or an end date
Give the link a date and it stops working after it. On Pro and Studio, a password keeps the PDF closed to anyone without it.

Three ways in
However you make it, it's the same link.
Drop the PDF in your browser, ask an AI agent, or send it from your own code. Every route ends at one link, and it works the same wherever it goes.

- API keys on every plan, Free included
- On an account, the same preview, open counts and QR code whichever way you make the link
PDF links
Why a link beats the attachment.
An attachment is a copy, and once it's sent you can't fix a typo, see whether it was read or take it back. A link points at one file you control, so every reader gets the current version. When the PDF changes, you can replace the PDF behind the link and the address stays the same.
A link also can't hit an attachment size limit or fill up an inbox, and on Pro or Studio it carries a PDF up to 250MB or 1GB. In apps that draw them, a preview card with the first page shows the reader what the file is before they click.
Without an account, the link lasts 7 days. Signing up moves it into your account, where the free tier keeps 10 links live until you delete them. On any account plan you can also give the link an end date, which turns it into an expiring share link that closes on the day you pick.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create a link for a PDF?
Drop the PDF on the uploader at the top of this page. The link appears as soon as the upload finishes, ready to copy.
Do I need an account?
No. Without one, you can have 3 links live for 7 days each. A free account keeps 10 links live until you delete them.
How big can the PDF be?
25MB on the free plan and without an account, 250MB on Pro and 1GB on Studio.
Can I choose the link name?
Yes, signed in or not. Press Choose the link name in the upload card, type a name such as harbour-road, then drop the PDF. If nobody holds that name, the link reads nudgehost.com/harbour-road. If someone does, the card asks for another one, and a name taken in the moment before your upload gets a short random one instead.
Can I update the PDF without changing the link?
Yes, on any account plan. Upload the new version over the old one, and the same link and any QR code pointing at it show the new file.
Can I see whether it was opened?
Free accounts see how many times the link was opened. Pro and Studio add the time and country of each open, with a CSV export.
How long does the link stay online?
On a free account, until you delete it. There's no rule about logging in to keep it alive. Links made without an account last 7 days.
Will my PDF show a banner?
No. A PDF opens under a slim header with its file name, Report and Download, and carries no NudgeHost banner on any plan, even without an account.
Does the reader need an account or an app?
No. The link opens in the browser, and anyone with it can read or download the PDF.
Can I password-protect a PDF link?
Yes, on Pro and Studio. The reader types the password before the PDF opens, and NudgeHost keeps only a secure hash of it.
Do I get a QR code?
Yes. Every live link in your dashboard has a QR code, on every account plan including Free.
Can my AI agent create PDF links?
Yes. NudgeHost's MCP server lets an agent upload a file and return the link, and the REST API does the same from your own code. Both work on Free, with 2 API keys.
Why does the preview show a file name instead of the first page?
The first page is drawn for a PDF up to 100MB, and a bigger file gets a card with its name. A password-protected link shows the standard NudgeHost card, so its first page stays private.
What happens when I delete the link?
The PDF stops opening straight away. Anyone who follows the link afterwards lands on a page saying there is no file there.
Is there a limit on how many people can open it?
No. There is no visitor cap on any plan, so the same link can go to one client or to a whole mailing list and keep working.
Is the link secure?
Every link is served over HTTPS, so the PDF is encrypted on its way to the reader. The storage behind it stays private, because each visit reads the file through a signed address that expires within the hour.
Will my PDF be compressed?
No. The file goes up exactly as it is, as long as it fits your plan's limit, so the reader sees every page at full quality.
Can I send several PDFs as one link?
Zip them together and upload the ZIP. The reader gets one link and downloads the whole bundle.
