Share a file without an account.
Drop a file here and get a link straight away, with no sign-up, no email address and no card. The link works for 7 days, and a free account keeps it for as long as you want.
- 25MBa file, no account needed
- 3 linkslive at once, signed out
- 7 daysbefore a link expires
What they see
The file opens in their browser.
Send the link in a message or an email. The person you send it to needs no account either. A PDF opens in the browser's viewer, an image or video shows on the page, and anything else comes with a download button.
- No account on either side
- No NudgeHost bar on a PDF, image or video
- A download button for anyone who wants a copy
Before you upload
Any file type works without an account.
Nothing is refused by type. What changes is how the file shows up when someone opens the link.
Documents
A PDF opens in the browser's viewer. A Word file is turned into a web page that reads on any screen, and the download button still gives people the original.
Pages and sites
An HTML file opens as a working page. A ZIP with an index.html goes live as a site at its own nudgehost.site address. Both carry a small NudgeHost bar until you claim them with a free account.
Media, data and the rest
Images show on the page, and video and audio play in the browser. A CSV opens as a table and JSON as a tree. Anything else, from spreadsheets to slide decks, gets a clean download page.
How it works
From file to link in three steps.
Drop the file
Drag it onto the uploader or tap Choose a file. There's no form to fill in, and the security check runs in the background.
Copy the link
The link is live as soon as the upload finishes. Choose its name first if you want one that reads well, or leave it for a random one.
Send it, or keep it
Send the link anywhere. If you need it past a week, make a free account in the same browser and the link moves across with no end date.
Signed out or signed in
What works without an account, and what needs one.
Sharing needs nothing. Managing a link after it's made needs a free account, because the account is how NudgeHost knows the link is yours.

Keeping it
Sign up and your links come with you.
Make a free account, or sign in to one you have, in the same browser you uploaded from. Your signed-out links move into the account by themselves.
Nothing to re-upload
The link and its view count stay the same. Its end date comes off, and so does the NudgeHost bar.
Room for 10 on the free plan
Links move across newest first, up to the free plan's 10. Any left over keep their 7-day end date until you free up a slot.
Gone after a week
On day 7 the link stops working and visitors see a not-found page. The file is deleted from storage within the next day.

When to skip the account, and when to make one.
Skip it when the file only needs to reach someone this week, such as a signed document, a set of photos or a draft for a quick look. The link is ready in seconds, and once you're done you don't have to remember another login. Most files open straight in the browser, the way a PDF shared as a link does.
Make one when the link has to outlast the week, or when you'll want to change it. A free account keeps it until you delete it, lets you replace the file at the same link and shows how often it was opened. It's also the only way to delete a link before its 7 days are up.
Signed out or in, anyone with the link can open the file, so a password-protected link on Pro suits anything private. Expiry on its own works differently from an end date you set yourself, which shows visitors an expired screen.
If you've been sending large attachments, how NudgeHost compares with WeTransfer sets out the differences. The free plan costs nothing and keeps 10 links live.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an email address?
No. Uploading without an account asks for nothing at all. A security check runs in the background, and now and then it asks you to confirm you're a person.
How long does the link last?
7 days from the moment the upload starts. Make a free account in the same browser before then and the link stays live until you delete it.
What happens after 7 days?
The link stops working and anyone who opens it sees a not-found page. The file is deleted from storage within the next day.
Can I delete the link before then?
Not without an account, because there's nothing to prove the link is yours. Sign up in the same browser and the link moves into your account, where you can delete it.
Will my links move across if I sign up on another device?
No. They're tied to the browser you uploaded from, through a cookie. Sign up or sign in there and they move across.
How many files can I share without an account?
3 links live at once, each up to 25MB. A free account raises that to 10 links with no end date.
Does the person I send it to need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can open it in their browser.
Will they see a NudgeHost banner?
A file that opens on its own NudgeHost page, such as a PDF or an image, sits under a slim NudgeHost header with Download and Report buttons. An HTML page, a Word file or a ZIP site uploaded without an account also carries a small NudgeHost bar, which goes once you claim it with a free account.
Can I choose the link's name?
Yes. Type a name in the upload card before you drop the file. If it's in use or reserved, the card asks you to pick another.
Can I add a password?
No. Passwords come with Pro and Studio. Without one, anyone who has the link can open the file.
Is there a limit on how many I can upload?
Besides the 3 live links, each network can start up to 10 uploads an hour without an account. Signing in lifts that limit.
Is anything stored about me?
A cookie in your browser called nh_anon, which lasts a year and lets your uploads follow you into an account. To limit abuse, NudgeHost also keeps a hash of your IP address for up to two days.
