Get a privacy policy URL for your app.
NudgeHost turns your app's privacy policy into a web page at its own link, and a free account keeps 10 links live at once with no end date, each up to 25MB. Paste the policy's HTML or upload the .html file, choose the link name, and copy the address into App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

What a reviewer sees
A policy page at its own address.
The address goes in the store listing and inside the app. Anyone who opens it reads the policy in the browser, with no account.
- Opens in any browser
- No sign-in for readers
- The same address after an update
How it works
How to get a privacy policy URL.
Save the policy as HTML and add it
Save the policy as an HTML page with Privacy Policy in its title, since Google rules out PDFs and asks for clear labeling. Sign in, because a link made without an account lasts 7 days, then paste the HTML or drop the .html file. A pasted page is saved under its title, so a policy titled Privacy Policy becomes privacy-policy.html.
Choose the link name
Type a name such as fernhill-privacy in the upload card and the policy opens at nudgehost.com/fernhill-privacy. If the name is taken, the link gets a random one and the card tells you.
Paste the URL into both stores
In App Store Connect it goes in the Privacy Policy URL field. In Play Console it goes under App content, then Privacy Policy. Link the same address from inside the app as well.
After it's live
Keep it current without touching the listing.
Replacing and zipped sites work on Free. Custom domains come with Pro and Studio.
Update the policy, keep the URL
Replace the file from its settings. Both store listings keep the same address, with nothing to resubmit.
Terms and deletion pages beside it
Zip the pages with an index.html and each gets its own address on one site.
On your own domain
Point a subdomain such as legal.fernhill.app at a zipped site with one CNAME record. Pro includes 1 custom domain and Studio includes 5.
Store rules
What Apple and Google ask for.
Apple's App Store Connect help lists the Privacy Policy URL as “Required for iOS and macOS apps”, and App Review Guideline 5.1.1 asks for the link “in the App Store Connect metadata field and within the app in an easily accessible manner.” Apple's pages ask for a URL and don't mention file formats.
| NudgeHost | Apple App Store | Google Play | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Privacy policy URL | A link for each page, 10 live on the free plan | Required for iOS and macOS apps | Required for every app |
| A link inside the app | The same link works in the app | Required | Required, as a link or the text |
| A PDF | The policy opens as a web page | Not stated | Not accepted |
| Stays reachable | Until you delete it, on every account plan | Not stated in those words | Required, at an “active, publicly accessible” URL |
| Labeled as a privacy policy | A pasted page takes its file name from its title | Not stated | Required, for example in the title |
Google's User Data policy is stricter about the page. It asks for “an active, publicly accessible and non-geofenced URL (no PDFs)”, a policy that is clearly labeled as one, and the developer or app named in the text. Apps that don't touch personal data still need one. NudgeHost doesn't block any country, and puts no password or sign-in in front of the page unless you add one.

Policy hosts
Next to other policy hosts.
Tiiny.host has a page for hosting legal documents. Privacy Policy URL and Privyr were the two policy hosts ranking on Google in the US for “privacy policy url” when we checked in October 2026. Each row comes from the company's own pages.
| NudgeHost | Tiiny.host | Privacy Policy URL | Privyr | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Your own policy text | Yes, any HTML page | Yes, upload a document | Built from a questionnaire, then editable | No, built from a company name and email |
| Free plan | 10 live links, 25MB each | 1 project, 3MB (0.5MB for PDFs), with a banner | Its page calls store URLs both “free” and “$9.99/yr” | Free |
| How long a link lasts | Until you delete it | On free, while you log in at least once every 3 months | $9.99 a year “while active” | Not stated |
| Same URL after an update | Yes, on every account plan | “Just upload the new version” on its terms page. Its pricing page lists “Editing features” from Solo | Yes | Not stated |
| Custom domain | Pro, $12 a month | Solo, $13 a month billed yearly | Not stated | Not stated |
Tiiny.host and NudgeHost host a policy you already have. Privacy Policy URL and Privyr write one from your answers, and Privyr's is built for lead ads.

App stores
A policy page the stores can always open.
Both stores ask for a URL, and Google is specific about the page behind it. Play Console wants the policy on an active, publicly accessible web page and rules out PDFs, so a link that expires, or one that serves a PDF, doesn't meet it. On the free plan a page stays live until you delete it, with room for 10 links.
Signed in, you can paste the markup straight in or drop the .html file. A single HTML file opens under a slim NudgeHost header showing its file name and a Download button, with your page below it.
Policies change when an app adds a feature or a new SDK. Open the file's settings and swap the file without changing the URL, and the address in both store listings keeps working with nothing to resubmit. Visitors can read the page but can't change it.
Most apps need more than one legal page. Terms of use sit beside the policy, and Google asks any app that creates accounts for a web page where people can request deletion. Put the pages in one folder with an index.html, zip it, and upload a ZIP. The folder becomes a site at fernhill.nudgehost.site, with the terms at fernhill.nudgehost.site/terms, and a zipped site serves your pages on their own, with no header. On Pro you can use your own domain for that site.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a PDF as my Google Play privacy policy URL?
No. Google's User Data policy asks for “an active, publicly accessible and non-geofenced URL (no PDFs)”. Save the policy as an HTML page instead. NudgeHost serves an HTML file as a web page, while a PDF opens in a PDF viewer, which Google's wording rules out.
Does Apple accept a PDF?
Apple's App Store Connect help and the App Review Guidelines ask for “A URL that links to your company's privacy policy” and don't mention file formats. An HTML page meets both stores' wording, so it's the safer choice.
How long does a NudgeHost privacy policy link stay up?
With an account, until you delete it or set an end date, and nothing removes a free account's link for inactivity. A link made without an account lasts 7 days, so sign in before you create the one you paste into a store.
Will the URL change when I update my policy?
No. Replace the file from its settings in your dashboard and the address stays the same, on every account plan.
Can I host terms of use and an account deletion page too?
Yes. Each can be its own link, and a free account holds 10 at once. You can also zip the pages into one site, so the policy, the terms and the deletion page share one address.
Can I put the policy on my own domain?
Yes, on Pro or Studio. Host the pages as a zipped site and point a subdomain you own, such as legal.yourapp.com, at it with a CNAME record. Pro includes 1 custom domain and Studio includes 5. A root domain can't be used.
Does NudgeHost write the policy for me?
No. NudgeHost hosts the policy you already have. Write it yourself or with a generator, then save it as HTML.
Do people need an account to read it?
No. Anyone with the link can open it, including the reviewers at Apple and Google.
