Host a CSV file as a link.
Drop a .csv and get a URL. The recipient sees the rows as a table in the browser, with no spreadsheet app, and can download the original file from the same page.

What they see
Your CSV opens as a table in the browser.
Paste the link into a chat, an email or a ticket. Apps that show link previews display a NudgeHost card with the file name and a CSV label, and one tap opens the rows as a table, with the first row as the header. The Download button above it saves the original file.

How it works
From a spreadsheet to a link.
Save as CSV, then upload
Save or download the sheet as a .csv from Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, and drop it on the uploader. Up to 10MB opens as a table, and a larger file downloads instead.
Copy the link
The link works the moment the upload finishes. Name the link in the upload card first and it reads like nudgehost.com/stock-count.
Send it
Paste it into the chat, the email or the ticket. It opens as a table in any browser, and the Download button hands over the original file.
After you send it
The link keeps up with the data.
Replacing a file and open counts work on the free plan. Passwords and the detail behind each open come with Pro and Studio.
Swap in this week's export, keep the link
Upload the new file over the old one. The address, the view count and any password or end date stay the same, so a weekly report keeps one URL.
See whether it was opened
Free accounts see how many times the link was opened. Pro and Studio add the time and country of each open, with a CSV export.
Keep customer data private
On Pro and Studio, a password stands in front of the table and the download. Any account can give the link an end date.

CSV files and links
Why share a CSV as a link.
A CSV sent as an attachment opens in whatever spreadsheet app the recipient has, if they have one. A link shows the rows as a table in any browser, with the first row as the header. NudgeHost reads quoted fields and commas inside values, works out the delimiter, and takes .tsv files too. To check a file before you send it, you can open a spreadsheet in your browser without uploading anything.
Windows labels a .csv as an Excel file, so NudgeHost also goes by the .csv or .tsv ending. A file's type decides whether the browser shows it or downloads it, as the glossary entry on MIME types explains. Data that's nested rather than flat reads better as a tree, and you can share a JSON file as a link the same way. If the formulas matter, share an .xlsx as a link instead and the recipient downloads the workbook.
A weekly export can keep one address. Upload this week's file, then replace the file in your dashboard next week, and the same link shows the new rows. The free plan keeps 10 links live with no end date. A customer list or a payroll export belongs behind a password, which needs Pro or Studio.

Frequently asked questions
Does the recipient need Excel?
No. The rows open as a table in any browser. They need a spreadsheet app only if they download the file to work on it.
How many rows will they see?
The first 500 on the page, with a note giving the total. The download has every row.
Does it work with semicolons or tabs?
Yes. NudgeHost works out the delimiter from the file, and a .tsv opens as a table too.
How big can the file be?
Up to 10MB shows as a table. Uploads go up to 25MB on the free plan and without an account, 250MB on Pro and 1GB on Studio, and anything over the table limit downloads.
Can I update the data and keep the link?
Yes, on any account plan. Replace the file in your dashboard and the same link shows the new rows.
Can I keep the data private?
On Pro and Studio, a password closes the table and the download to anyone without it. Links on nudgehost.com also ask search engines not to index them.
