Free web hosting for student projects.
Put a class project, a coding assignment or a portfolio online free. A free account keeps 10 links live with no end date, each file up to 25MB, and asks for no card and no student email.
- 10 linkslive at once, free
- 25MBa file on the free plan
- No cardand no student email
What your teacher sees
Your project opens as a website.
Hand in the link and the project opens in a browser with its own pages, styles and scripts. Your teacher needs no account, and a project on a free account carries no NudgeHost bar.
- Its own nudgehost.site address
- Links between pages work as they did on your computer
- Nothing to install to open it
How it works
Hand in your project as a link.
Check the folder
Put index.html at the top of the project folder and open it in a browser on your own computer first. Then zip the folder.
Upload the ZIP
Drop it on the uploader. A site up to 25MB and 200 files runs on the free plan.
Send the link
Paste it into the submission box or an email. Your teacher opens it in a browser with no account.
After you hand it in
Fix it without sending a new link.
Replacing and end dates work on every account plan. Your own domain comes with Pro and Studio.
Upload the final version over the draft
Open the link's settings in the dashboard and use Replace. The address stays the same, so the link you handed in shows the new version.
See whether it was opened
Free accounts see how many times the link was opened. Pro adds the time and country of each open.
Put a portfolio on your own domain
Connect a subdomain you own, such as portfolio.yourname.com, 1 on Pro or 5 on Studio. A site there can show up in Google.

A ZIP without an index.html uploads as a file to download. On Pro and Studio, a ZIP over 100MB still uploads, and it's shared as a download instead of served as a site. A password-protected site doesn't serve on a custom domain, so pick one or the other.

What a student project needs to run here.
A class project usually has to reach one person by a date, the teacher or the examiner. A link opens in any browser with nothing to install, so they see the work as you built it. The steps are the ones anyone uses to publish a website for free, and this page covers what matters more on a deadline.
Zip the project folder and upload a ZIP, and it runs as a site at its own nudgehost.site address, with every page, stylesheet and image in place. The folder needs the index.html file at its top, because that is the page a visitor sees first.
A portfolio for a placement or a first job goes up the same way. You can share a portfolio with one link and keep it there from one application to the next. The free plan keeps 10 links live with no end date.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a student email or a card?
No. Sign up with any email address. The free plan needs no card and no proof that you're a student.
Can my teacher open it without an account?
Yes. The link opens in any web browser, on a phone or a laptop, with no app and no sign-up.
Can I host a PHP or WordPress site?
No. NudgeHost runs no server code, so PHP, databases and WordPress won't work. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and built React or Vue apps will.
How big can my project be?
On the free plan a ZIP up to 25MB runs as a site, with up to 200 files. A single file such as a PDF report can be up to 25MB.
Will the link still work after term ends?
On a free account it stays up until you delete it. A link made without an account stops after 7 days.
Can I change the project after I've sent the link?
Yes, on a free account. Replace the file in your dashboard and the link stays the same, so you don't have to send a new one.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. Upload signed out and the project goes live straight away. It lasts 7 days, carries a small NudgeHost bar, and you can hold 3 links at once. Make a free account and your links move across, the bar goes and they stop expiring.
Will Google find my portfolio?
Not on a nudgehost.site address. Those addresses ask search engines not to list them, so the site reaches the people you send the link to. Put it on your own domain with Pro if you want it in search results.
Will a React or Vue project work?
Yes, once it's built. Run the build, zip the dist or build folder, and upload that. A path the app routes itself, such as /about, loads the app instead of a 404.
